Patient Testimonials

"I went to Dr. Gorodinsky after another doctor had suggested steroid injections as the next plan of action for my condition.  I felt that such a suggestion was too aggressive, without trying other modalities first. I am now functioning well as Dr. Gorodinsky has transformed my life without painful techniques or surgery. Her concern for patients combined with her unique wisdom of the body, makes her a specialist of unparalleled excellence."

"Today, six weeks and 4 days after being told by my MD orthopedic surgeon that there was nothing he could do for me and it would take 3-6 months to recover from a broken tailbone, I went rock climbing and had zero pain. Not willing to accept… the initial prognosis I went to Dr. Gorodinsky who reset the bone and did her magic. She said it would, like any bone, take 6 weeks to heal - she was right on target. And two weeks after seeing her I was off the pain meds: she said, one week ;-). But the MD gave me script for pain med for 2 months! There are many tools in the toolbox. You just need to find someone who knows how to use the ones you need. If you need a sports doc in NYC this is who I recommend."

The pain started out under my shoulder blade: I thought it was just a knot in the muscle and would go away on its own. But it didn’t. It got worse. Pain traveled down my arm, across my back and chest. After a couple of months, excruciating pain (8 out of 10) was waking me up every night. Dr. Gorodinsky diagnosed a blown disk in my neck that was impinging the nerves. Standard treatments offer almost nothing to deal with this problem. I could do physical therapy, which wouldn’t work, or I could have surgery to remove the disk and fuse the vertebra. Surgery always involves risk: infection; anesthesia shock; it’s done in a hospital with all the dangers associated with hospitalization; and in this case, if a mistake was made, spinal cord injury that would leave me paralyzed. So surgery was my very last option.

Instead, Dr. Gorodinsky offered me an osteopathic option. Unfortunately, it was not covered by insurance - but it would work and, most important, was completely safe. She first used neuroprolotherapy to calm and retrain the nerves to function with the impingement. After ten treatments, I was pain free. She then used platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy to tighten up the ligaments in my neck. PRP stabilizes the joints, preventing recurring injury. I’m now more than a month post PRP, pain-free and getting back to my life after months of pain and diminished capacity. I am so grateful."

Dear Dr. Gorodinsky,
Many apologies for being out of touch.  I have thought about getting in touch with you for past year, and no excuse for not doing it until now.'
What I need to tell you is my shoulder has "healed" 100%.  It was one of those things that about 6 months after the PRP procedure when I contacted you saying there was still residual discomfort (and I thought some new areas of discomfort), I ignored your comment that it sometimes takes longer, and was resigned that this didn't work.  Then maybe 3 months later I was doing a yoga pose involving my left shoulder that before I had both weakness and pain, and was able to do it pain free with normal strength.  The lightbulb went off in my head that my shoulder was completely healed.
So you can add my treatment to your many stories of "miraculous" success.
Thank you for your help in mending my body.

Just wanted to update you briefly on my progress. I have started working with a Pilates personal trainer by the name of Karin Fantus who has been helping me with staying flexible as I am get older. I find our sessions very helpful.

But importantly, I would not be in a place to start work with a Pilates trainer had it not been for the great care, know;ledge, and help which the two of you gave me in helping me to recover from my knee injury and associated issues. I am truly indebted to both of you for your care and just want to say "thank you" once more!

I'm feeling pretty good these days and have been trying to keep all the exercises and knowledge that you gave me in mind as I go ,about my day. Here's hoping that you are both well and that things are going fine for you both.

Sincerely,

Martin

Dr. Gorodinsky is the kind of physician every patient should have, and every doctor should aspire to be---warm, compassionate and caring. She doesn't just treat the complaint you come in with, she wants to get to the root of it. She uses osteopathic medicine to restore balance to the areas of your body that are out of balance, in an effort to help the body heal itself. Sometimes, while implementing osteopathic medicine, Dr. Gorodinsky also fleshes out feelings that contribute to your physical imbalance. When this happens, her treatment will shift to the emotional factors that contribute to a physical ailment, and she works to restore balance to all facets of a patient's life, recognizing that there are emotional and spiritual aspects to a physical problem. In Dr. Gorodinsky's office, the patient is clearly a partner in keeping him or herself healthy, and Dr. Gorodinsky consistently offers easy, conservative and reasonable tools to promote wellness, and to encourage patients to stay on top of their own health. She answers any and all questions that a patient may have. I, for one, am very grateful to have met her and pleased to call her my doctor.
